Klika- Ceramic Knife Set

I love having the opportunity to review products from websites I've never heard about! The unheard websites, turn out to be the best ones.
When I was asked to have a look on the Klika website and see if anything appealed to me, I was like a little kid in a candy store.
Klika have everything!
Their main categories are;
  • Living
  • Fitness
  • Trade
  • Outdoor
  • Music
Klika delivers world wide and delivers very quickly I must say!

Firstly I reviewed the Ceramic Knife set in White.

Features:

  • 6 inch ceramic knife
  • 5 inch ceramic knife
  • 4 inch ceramic knife
  • 3 inch ceramic knife
  • Ceramic peeler
  • Knife Holder
  • RRP. $32.95
  • Ceramic knives are renowned for their sharpness and durability. With a unique non-porous blade manufactured from zirconium oxide - a material tougher than hardened steel - the ceramic blade knife remains sharper, holding its edge much longer than steel. Ceramic knives resist stains and cannot rust, remaining easy to clean, bacteria free, and are non-magnetic.These stylish knives feature an ergonomic handle, excellent balance and light weight. This set is complemented by a ceramic peeler, and an elegant acrylic knife block for storage and easy access.

  • I love cooking and preparing food, so the knife set was a must pick!
Surprisingly, I have never ever used ceramic knives, so I was quite excited to try.
That night I was cooking a chicken pasta dish, and the chicken hadn't fully defrosted.
So this was a perfect opportunity to see if the ceramic knives were good or not.
An well... They weren't good, they were great!
The blade was so sharp and the actual knifes themselves are really light.
I loved using them, they were absolutely fantastic.
An to be honest with you, I haven't STOPPED using them since.
My old knifes have found their permanent home in the bottom draw, never to be seen again.

My favourite thing about these knifes, is they look so stylish in my kitchen.
Unlike normal knifes, they seriously look a lot more modern & appealing.

How pretty are they!
As soon as I unpackaged them I had to give them a test trial.
So I got some onion out and had to see if this blade was as good as described on the website- and it was.
I really think I'll stay with ceramic knifes forever now.
They're quality is so much better and the fact that they don't rust is fantastic.
An how can you go wrong with just $32.95 for a 6 pc set.

Check Out Klika for a massive savings on great products, you won't be dissaponted.
Keep an eye out for my two upcoming reviews on products from Klika.
10/10 for Klika!

Where is home?

Where is home?

This is not a review. This is a personal post.

Something a little different for me, but I like to sometimes vent a little and post things on more of a personal note. This way I am able to vent and others can also relate and maybe take some positive advice from it.

I have always lived with my Mum and up until I turned 18 I used to go to my Dads every second weekend. I didn't stop going to my Dads every second weekend because I didn't enjoy it, I LOVED it.. I just found it hard to keep visiting when I had work on weekends and a social life.
Dads house was always a good getaway as he lives a minute walk away from the Port Melbourne Beach. I like Port Melbourne as its so relaxing yet so city! But as my Dad lives with his partner and her family, living with him was never an option (wasn't a room for me to live full time).

My Mum was quite gypsy like as I was growing up, I have literally lived in SO many places I could forget. I have been too 3 primary schools & 3 high schools. But from about 13 too currently, I've lived in Melton (eh I know). If you're unaware of the town Melton, heres a description;
A 40 minute drive from the CBD, located on the outer Western Suburbs. Melton is a fast growing 'city' that is the home of many.... uh well, ferals. Im going to put it honestly because thats exactly how I feel. The potential of the town is just fantastic but the people that live here just ruin it all.
To give you a bit of an example of why a lot of locals in Melton are feral I'll tell you some events that have been happening in my town as of lately..
Just last week there were two shootings in Melton; a man shot in the face & another man attempted to shoot someone at the petrol station. Also last week, my house mates car was stolen from the front of our house. Her LOCKED car was stolen... From out the front of our home.
The list of horrible events go on and on and on, and too conclude my thoughts of this town is- I hate it.

About 6 months ago my Mum moved in with her current partner. This meant moving to Inverleigh, a small country town about 20 minutes from Geelong. This also meant I was left to be independent and live with house mates. This was so very new too me but I have adapted fine. It has taught me a lot of life lessons and I'm really thankful for that.
But like I said, I really just hate my location. At times I feel unsafe and everything around me is just so negative. I am a person who cannot live around negative things or negative people, my environment is so very important too me.

Staying at my Mums farm as a little getaway has just be so lovely. I love being surrounded by nature and surrounded with beautiful animals. Staying on Acrege makes me miss the privacy that you get when living on a farm. Not having to listen to your next door neighbours every move and being able to just do whatever you like (also the fact that my car wouldn't get stolen from out the front of the farm).
An the conversation about me possibly moving here has come up. An then I ask myself, would I make the BIG move?

CONS:
- Boyfriend wouldn't move away from home
- Would not see my boyfriend often as he has commitments back home
- Missing my boyfriend
- Travelling to the city for events could be extremely time consuming
- Leaving my job
- Far from shopping, duh
- Social life

Obviously the main factor is leaving my boyfriend. So all thats on my mind is whats more important? Being happy in my environment or, my relationship.
My relationship means everything too me, but so does my happiness and surroundings.
Ah, my problems..

So my advice to others;
Follow your heart, sounds corny but so true. Your mind can tell you a thousand things, but the feelings in your heart will never lie.
Your environment is so very important. If you feel in danger or just really, really unhappy then MOVE. Make a change, even if its a big one. It will truly be worth it and your whole mindset and attitude will change when your happy.
But what I still can't figure out myself is; Where is home?
Is it with your family? Is it simply just where you are happy?

For now I will continue to live when I am currently, but moving will forever be on mind.

Haystac Blogger event

I thought it would be necessary to share what I got up to last night, a view like I had has to be shared.

I was kindly invited along with my sister to the Haystac event. The invite said;
"Meet the team over  glass of Brown Brothers sparking wine and hear about some of the exciting clients including Melbourne Racing Club, Melbourne International & Garden Show, Officeworks, and San Churro."

Thats exactly what we did! We joined all of the Haystac girls and fellow bloggers for drinks and light canapés on their amazing terrace over looking the city.
Events like these are really a fantastic opportunity because not only do you get to meet other bloggers who think alike and share many things in common with one another, but you get to meet PRs and put a face to emails and really connect for possible further opportunities.

To be honest, I have never worked with Haystac so I wasn't really sure what to expect. But I walked away from this event with a whole new perspective on PRs. They were absolutely LOVELY and it was so easy to get stuck into a really good conversation. All of the girls I had met from Haystac were down to earth and well, honest.

This was our beautiful view.......

A fantastic night in the end! I really enjoyed getting to know the PRs, because like I said they're so down to earth you can just speak to them like friends.
I also enjoyed chatting about their clients. Us bloggers were lucky enough to have been given a gift each which included some goodies from their clients.
Our envelope included; Two tickets to the Mornington Picnic (a very exciting event, must look into!), two tickets to the Melbourne International Garden Show, Free Churros for one from San Churros and a $50 gift card for Office works.
I defiantly will be making a trip to Office works today (with maybe a sneaky visit to San Churro).
I am now looking forward to using the tickets for the wonderful events and making a great day out of it!

Thank you Haystac for a lovely evening.
I had a wonderful night & look forward too working with Haystac in the future.

Barkers of Geraldine

What a great brand, again from the beautiful NZ.

After 45 years, Barker’s of Geraldine is still on a corner of the family farm, 8km from the South Canterbury town of Geraldine. The farm sits in the lea of the Four Peaks mountain range, beside the Te Moana River and surrounded by rolling pastures.
The farm is now a thriving business, making world class jams, chutneys, syrups and condiments. Barker’s supports the local community employing around 150 local people, and always buys local produce whenever possible.
I love the fact that this brand has been created in the family and stayed that way. SO much love and care goes into these products when being produced through a family.
Its so special receiving products for brands like this, it might sound silly but I feel honoured to be able to promote them.

I was sent out from Barkers of Geraldine a lite squeezed Blackcurrants syrup, and to be honest usually I wouldn't buy a fruit syrup. But this was a great opportunity to try something I had never tried before!
With the same great taste and half the sugar, there is even more reason for you and your family to enjoy Barkers Blackcurrant. The natural sweetness of the stevia plant replaces half the sugar in our lite Blackcurrant, with no artificial sweeteners and no compromise on flavour. Vitamin C in lite Blackcurrants contributes to healthy immune system , recution of tiredness and fatigue and cell protection from free radical damage. * When diluted as directed and consumed as part of a healthy diet.

So many benefits I would never have thought that a simple Blackcurrant juice would have. The flavour is quite different than I had imagined. Its quite strong and full of flavour, you can just tell its real fruit. Its a juice that I would have a glass with a nice heathy lunch!

  • Low calorie
  • 50% less sugar than regular Barker's Blackcurrant
  • Rich source of vitamin C

  • No artificial sweeteners
  • Natural source of antioxidants
  • No preservatives
  • No added colour or flavour
  • Gluten free

  • Contains Honey.  Honey contains bee pollen which can cause severe allergic reactions.

Stockists

  • New Zealand: all good supermarkets
  • Australia: Coles

For fantastic recipes for Barkers products, for products & shop and all things Barkers related visit there webiste.
I am so very pleased to have had this opportunity to review Barkers Blackcurrant juice, and this will not be the last time you'll see Barkers reviews. I am so keen to try other products in their range, I will be keeping an eye out of what products they have stocked at Coles.
Thank you for reading and thank YOU Barkers of Geraldine for a wonderful product experience.

Anathoth Farm

simple ingredients. nothing more, nothing less

Beautiful, beautiful New Zealand. A place that I can almost call home.
I have a lot of family that were born and still living in New Zealand, and all though I have only visited the beautiful country once, it feels like a second home.

One thing I enjoyed the most about New Zealand is their food! Their fresh produce and their unique kiwi brands. Thats the sort of stuff I miss about New Zealand!!!
Luckily, I got the fantastic opportunity to review some NZ brands which I have surprisingly never tried before. Starting with the fantastic Anathoth Farm- New Zealand Jams and Pickles.

I had the absolute pleasure of reviewing the sweet chilli relish, which has actually been voted for product of the year, impressive huh!!!!

To be honest, this isn't the type of product I would usually go and purchase, but I have been highly impressed with the unique taste of the relish. I personally enjoy it just on some crackers, as its quite a sweet fruity flavour. It is quite hard to explain the taste of this relish, as I've never had anything like it before.
The texture is a bit thick and lumpy, kind of like a fruity jam!
After opening, the tub is to go in the fridge, and to be kept refrigerated.

To see a full list of all of the Anathoth Farm products, recipes, history, to purchase the products & all other handy information visit the website below!

http://www.anathoth.com.au/products/
In conclusion, I must tell my readers that this really is a brand you can trust. Its one of those brands that you can read every single ingredient thats been put in, and exactly how its been made. Their are no dodgy secrets and ingredients, its all natural and every single product is made with love and care!
I totally recommend going out and trying this relish or even one of Anathoth farms other products. Personally I can't wait to try the jams, they look amazing!!!

SEXERCISE REVIEW

Sexercise the musical. To be completely honest with you, I did not know what to expect.
I was aware Sexercise was a Melbourne musical comedy, but I really didn't know what I and everyone else would think of this show.
But.... IT WAS HILARIOUS. The whole entire crowd would be in laughing fits, it really was just fantastic.

Let me share my experience of the Opening night of Sexercise.

We arrived at the Alex Theatre, which is quite a beautiful theatre. I did notice it was a lot smaller then a lot of the other Melbourne theatres, only having minimal seating. But I guess the Alex Theatre will only host the smaller theatre shows. The venue had a wonderful "after party" area, which was huge area with a bar and disco lights... Yes their was disco lights, I felt like I was back at a blue light disco!
Back to me arriving at the venue! So we picked up our tickets from Box Office and after a few bubblys (complementary of course) we were able to find our seats and await the show.
Our seats were up the back of the theatre but because its quite a small theatre, it was in perfect view of the stage.
I was very excited to notice that Paul Robinson from neighbours was sitting in front of me!!! (Sorry I would rather call him Paul robinson then his actual name)

THE STORY is placed in the fast-paced world of married professional mid-30s couple Joe (Lyall Brooks) and Sam (Nicole Melloy). There's no place for seduction amid the juggling of school runs, work schedules and their personal exercise regimes.
Like so many things that are stretched to a breaking point, Joe and Sam are failing to deliver to each other what they used to give away so freely - time, affection, spontaneity and, of course, sex.
Well-meaning friends Tania (Lulu McClatchy), Shane (Kristin Holland) and Andy (Cameron MacDonald) try to help Joe and Sam work through their problems.
At couples' therapy Joe and Sam take a new approach to repairing their relationship when their counsellor, Rhonda (Fem Belling), offers them a self-help book about sexercise.
Why work out as individuals when they can burn kilojoules together to stay fit and find happiness?

It was quite hilarious because throughout the show you could see couples nudging each other relating to certain things. It was really quite a relatable show. They often talked (should I sung) about different problems a married couple or relationships can have. An as I was watching I could even relate to some of the stuff. Couples not making compromises for each other, making excuses for each other and sometimes not having enough sex!
In this day an age sex isn't a controversial topic at all. Its something that a lot of Melbournians are open about. An the fantastic way that this theatre show made the audience laugh but sit down and think about their relationships! I also saw a lot of oldies purchase the Sexercise book... but hey who am I too judge!

A lot of swear words, sexual scenes and laughing fits later and this show was just great. The one thing that I really loved about this show is how the audience could relate in regards to it being made in Melbourne. Their were a lot of references that only Melbournians or Australians would get. They referred to places like Taylors Lakes,  Narre Warren. References to people like Nikki Webster and all sorts of Australian icons, which I loved!

After the show we got to hang back at the After Party and meet the cast. Food and drinks provided and it was a fantastic time. It was great to see the Actors of the stage and see their real personalities. It really makes you realise the talent they have to act their part on stage.

I had a fantastic time and recommend seeing this show to everyone, what a great night!
