TRAVEL INSPO

Whats stopping you?
Whats stopping you save/plan & book your dream holiday.
Too many people are making excuses to hold off their travel. It is a clear fact that a holiday makes a person happier, relaxed, stress free & richer.

" Travel is the only thing you buy, that makes you richer"

They say that people don't really know who they are until they've travelled. You don't begin to think about what you really want to accomplish in life, until you've travelled. You don't get educated in school or work how you get educated on your travels. You don't understand things, you don't grow, and you certainly don't feel like you've achieved until you've travelled.

Fair enough that some people have no interest in Travelling. But for those who have never travelled, or for those who have but are making excuses.... GET UP AND DO IT. Just do it, because I promise you that the emotions you feel whilst or after travelling will be like nothing you've ever felt. In 30 years time, I want to be sharing thousands of stories about the hundreds of places iv'e visited. I want to say I've accomplished. I've saved and I've ticked places off of my bucket list. Now I'm certainly not saying quit your day job and travel the world (I mean if you have the money go ahead), I'm saying work harder then you ever have before. Save like you never ever have before and PLAN THOSE TRAVELS YOU'VE ALWAYS WANTED TOO!

THINGS I DO:
 - List the places I want to go; If I see a place that appeals to me or even hear about a place that interests me I write it down. I put a lot of research into that place and see if its somewhere I want to travel too in the near future. Almost like a Bucket list.

- Travel books; I often will just go to the travel agent and get those magazine type books that tell you about certain places. They have prices for accom, activities to do and much much more. This helps educate me on the place and motivates me to save.

- ONLINE TRAVEL WEBSITES; Yes i've purposely written that in capital letters. I'm one of those people that aren't that interested in travel agents. If you need a lot of help and are untrustworthy of booking on lie then go straight to the travel agent. But i like to visit one website in particular.
EXPEDIA; This website honestly has the best deals. If you go on at the right time you can literally get accommodation half price. People think travel is so ridiculously expensive, but expedia may change your mind. If your a smart pants like me, and you have your money already saved up then simply get that one off expedia deal price matched at a travel agent. They don't often tell you that you can price match, but the purpose of going to a travel agent is for that security and safety factor. Your getting the price thats online but going through the travel agent still.

Find a travel buddy; Worst thing possible is not having someone to travel with. Some people prefer to travel on their own but I would much rather make memories on my travels with a loved one. Help get someone motivated and inspired to travel as well. Share the excitement of planning a holiday with someone. An a great idea is to make travel a gift. For special occasions make your gift a holiday. It will be the best gift to ever give someone.

-Word of mouth; Often websites like Tripadvisor will have online forums of peoples opinions. It can be really helpful to google questions or places and see what real people think about them.

- Instragram or Travel Blogs; Another fantastic way to get inspired and motivated to travel. Some people post the most amazing photos on Instagram, simply hashtag a place you want to see. Follow people that have travel instagrams. An of course the travel blogs that have amazing posts about their travels. How simple that a photo can get you so inspired to go somewhere. I know I do!

- TRAVEL INSPO; My personal favourite. I fly too bali in 15 days now, to help keep us excited and motivated to save even more we have made a Bali countdown wall. Little things like this will honestly make a huge difference in helping you keep motivated to save.

My Sweets Paradise

My Sweets Paradise

Gluten Free- Dairy Free- Egg Free (vegan)

A must try guilt free treat.
I love trying new gluten free products, it's my favourite section of the supermarket. The fact that you can have treats that taste naughty, but aren't actually naughty is great!
I received three different 'My Sweets Paradise" mixes. All which I am very keen on! They included;
- Brownies Knight
- Caramel Brown Princess
- Banana Brown Army

But today my review will be on the fantastic Brownies Knight.
Now I am not much of a chocolate cake/muffins kind of person. I find chocolate flavours to powerful! But because my whole house hold is chocolate crazy I started with the Brownies Knight.
I have to be honest, when I read the back of the packet and saw that you only needed to add oil & water I didn't think that I was going to be producing a very nice dessert...
I am just so used to making my cakes and cupcakes and including dairy and eggs.

I decided to bake the brownies as a cake to begin with, and then slice them into little brownie pieces. It literally took me like 2 minutes to get it into the over and baking. Which amazed me because usually baking is really time consuming which I hate! The fact that it was so convenient was the first thing to impress me.
After about 15-20 minutes I pulled the cake out of the oven, let it cool for a good hour and then made my own icing sugar to put on top! After icing the cake I sliced them into pieces and it made a perfect Christmas Eve treat.
What did I think of the taste? AMAZING. Brownies to rave on about. The type of brownie that you take to a social event or school to share with special people! If you were at my Christmas shin dig Christmas Eve you would have thought I was the most annoying person with these bloody brownies. I was asking every single person to try a piece and tell me what they thought!
What did they think? My family loved these, and it was really hard for everyone to believe that they were gluten free, dairy free and egg free.

These little treats are what will change the idea of gluten free. When majority of people hear vegan they think healthy and tasteless. But not these bad boys!!!! They have completely changed my perspective on vegan products. Not ALL vegan products are so different from the real deal, because honestly after eating My sweets paradise- Brownies Knight, you could not tell they were any different then a non vegan product.
Summary: The convenience of these cakes would make anyone buy them. The fact that they're not necessarily unhealthy at all makes them a treat to have often! No need to worry about your guests dietary needs because they're vegan, gluten and dairy free. The other thing that stands out to me is the brand. An AU brand (based in NSW), where keeping it local and supporting independent brand owners. Lets help get this brand on every supermarkets shelf!

Rate: 10/10
Recommendations: Bake these for any social event. Super convenient and you'll have your guests raving.

2015, make a change.... actually this time.

2015.

It's that time of the year again- "the new year new me" time. The time of the year where people make false new years resolutions. But they never quite happen, they never quite get accomplished.
People make goals that they're not quite ready for, things that they want to achieve without truly putting in any effort.

But those who are truly tired of making false promises and not accomplishing their goals, 2015 is the year.
That goal that you've once made like losing weight, or getting that job... It's all been done before. Don't make excuses for yourself, don't say that it can't happen. Because when you're mindset is so negative that you say you can't do something, then simply you won't do it.

When you put in the hard yards, when you're motivated and you say you CAN do something and you set out goals and step by step plans that you will achieve your goal.
Before this year ends, I recommend truly thinking about what you want to achieve. What makes you happy and whats your why?
What have you always wanted to do in life, and whats the reason behind wanting to do it. I'll give you a few examples.

* You want to travel: SAVE, work hard. Get a job and work as many hours as you can. Don't spend money on things you don't need. Make sacrifices so that you're able to save and book that holiday you've always wanted to go on.

* You really want to get in your dream career path, but "its to hard": Why is it to hard? Because you haven't quite sat down and thought about your options. You're not willing to make sacrifices. I'm telling you now, all that hard work will be so worth it in the end. You're happiness is the most important thing. So if you need to study to allow you to get int that career path you want, then go out and study. Theirs so many options in this day in age that your able to pay off your study, or you're able to get help from the government. If you're worried about taking off work to allow you to study, then look at online courses, or night classes or even save money to allow you to go and study.

* You really want to get fit and healthy & lose weight: Something I struggle with myself, but I can tell you now I never stop trying hard. If you really want something then its all about going out and getting it. You can't sit at home and wish and pray for something to just happen! I believe that losing weight is all about your motivation and how hard you're willing to work. If you're not ready then its never going to happen. Results will drive you, they will make you work harder then you ever have before. So get working and continue to workout hard and it will slowly happen itself.

I want to give people some tips.
When you really want something, write it down. Set your goals out and never think negative towards them.
Don't stop trying hard, some days you may get tired and un motivated but you need to change your mind set and keep working hard.
Simply read motivation books, listen to motivational speakers, watch those movies that get you feeling positive and motivated, read books, study.. An lastly STOP COMPLAINING.

Go get it.

Pireaus Blues- MUST TRY

Pireaus Blues

"best greek restaurant in melbourne"

"...In 1995 the idea was formulated to introduce Greek cooking as we knew at home, to the Melbourne public. With the help of our mothers, who we are proud to say still do a great deal of cooking in the restaurant, the concept was realised and the doors to Pireaus Blues were opened!”

Located on the busy Brunswick street, Pireaus Blues turned last night into a fantastic experience.
A family night out with 6 others we decided to head to the highly spoken of restaurant.
Firstly lets talk about the food!!!
I am one of those people who can eat almost anything, so Greek food is very exciting for me. When I think about Greek food I think about Lamb, lots of bread, beautiful salads and really great flavours.
A lot of Greek restaurants or fast food places tend to give you the Australian version of Greek food, not the traditional Greek food that you would eat if you were over their.
But thats exactly what you get at Pireaus Blues- Traditional Greek food.

We decided to go with one of the Banquets, which is a fantastic idea if you really want try all of the flavours.
For our entree we had about 4 different dishes & same with our main meals. By the time of Dessert everyone was sooooo full, but we still received two beautiful desserts that we forced into our mouths. We ate everything Greek from Saganaki, Calamari, Home made dips and Pita, Fresh salad, Lamb cutlets, Souvalaki and much much more.
I honestly can not say I had one bad meal. Every single dish that was brought out to us was exceptional, full of flavours and you could tell it was fantastic quality.

As for the staff, the best service I've had in a long time. I must add that my partners step dad is Greek and did know the owners because of visiting this restaurant for a long long time. But they greeted us with a kiss on the cheek and were forever meeting our needs. Often when you visit a busy restaurant on a Saturday night you'll notice the staff will look very down and tired. But every single one of the staff at this restaurant were as happy as larry and were even happier to start a conversation with you. It really made a difference to the whole experience.

But Pireaus Blues isn't just about eating lovely food. As i've mentioned before, It really is about the experience. After getting to speak with one of the staff members that has only been in Melbourne for 11 months, we got to talking about his family. He talked to us about his values, tradition and how important family is to him.
The greeks are all about being family orientated, they all stick together and help each other out. They're are so passionate about sharing with others and thats why eating their meals is so special. Because they want to share what they have with you and let you experience the tastes that have come from their country. Speaking with this staff member got our whole table talking about Greece and what happens over their.
Greece isn't a well of country full of opportunities and money like Australia is. Comparing the two countries really makes you appreciate what we have here. An its remarkable that the Greeks come from a country with barely nothing but they still want to share everything they have with others.

Lastly lets talk about the location.
Busy Brunswick street is really a experience in its self. In the restaurant we sat next to a window that allowed you to look right out along Brunswick street and see all of the different people walk past. Its such a popular street for dining and pubs and clubs, the foot traffic along the street will amaze you. Its a crazy thing to say, but sometimes watching a really busy street can be relaxing.
Theirs street odometer parking which is a lot easier then you may think. We were lucky enough to find two parks right in front of each other a minute away from the Restaurant.
After dining out at Pireaus Blues it would be a fantastic idea to go and have a drink at one of the many bars down the road.

All in All I must say this was one of the best nights out in Melbourne I've had in a while. An it was truly for the amazing experience at Pireaus Blues. The exceptional customer service from the staff, the unforgettable food and experience all up. I have not been to many Greek restaurants in Melbourne, but I can already say that this HAS to be one of the BEST GREEK RESTAURANTS IN MELBOURNE. A MUST DO!!!!

Visit the website for menus or too book a table.

Costco Melbourne- the all you need to know guide

COSTCO MELBOURNE

An American wholesale warehouse. With everything from homeware, clothing, technology, alcohol and all types of food at wholesale prices.
Now why Costco? People love Costco because you can purchase American goods right here in Australia. Which is awesome, because we've got to try different food that's from America that we're now in live with. But everyone also loves Costco because you can buy nearly everything in bulk and save. In my opinion, unless you have a big family or a business then maybe Costco isn't for you.
For example, you can buy a 12 pack of giant muffins in 3 assorted flavours for $10. Now unless you have a lot of hungry mouths to feed then is it really necessary? Yes you're saving in the long run but some people would rather just shop week to week for the things they need.

But I honestly see Costco as more of a fun day out. Yesterday we purchased a yearly membership which was $60. Our membership includes as many trips as we want, and it also includes another card for a house hold member to use as well. So anyone that lives at the same address as you can get a card as well. With a membership you can take 2 adult guests in (no limit on children), BUT you are the only one to make a transaction at the end. It all sounds very confusing now but if you visit the Melbourne Costco they'll be happy to explain all the details to you at the desk.
So yesterday we panned a day out to visit Costco Melbourne.

Enough food tester stalls that you won't need to eat lunch, fresh food in bulk like you've never seen before, the cheapest takeaway cafe I've ever seen, giant packets of chips bigger then my head & much much more. Costco seriously is such an experience, it's like you're visiting an American local wholesale grocery store. Some of the prices are ridiculously cheap, and some are average. But it's the unusual American food that's exciting. We are so used to the same types of food that are on our local grocery stores that it's fantastic to see all these different types of food!

After we made our way around the ware house and filled our trolly with all the things we wanted to buy we made it to the checkout. Now I'm just warning you, they are quite strict on the whole membership transactions. You're visitor that you take in can only pay with your transaction, they can't do their own transaction. You're transaction must be paid with your credit card or money only, you're visitor can give you the cash for their purchase but they are not to use their credit card. I'm probably not the best to explain this at all, but just make sure your visitor has cash. There is also an atm at the Costco that can be used :)
After our transaction we ate at the Costco cafe! An oh my god the prices will shock you. Of course it's an American style cafe so the food is huge and crazy cheap. As an example you can get a large refillable drink plus a huge hot dog for (drum role please)....... $2 yep 2 frigen dollars. For $2.95 you can get a GIANT slice of pizza which was so yum. An theirs a few other things in the menu that are great too. I guess it just shocked me because the prices we soooooo cheap, and the food wasn't bad quality either. I think my next Costco trip will be just to visit the cafe hahaha.
Last night we ate the pulled pork which we purchased from Costco. Pre cooked pulled pork which you just reheat for a couple minutes in a pan, microwave or over. It was delicious, had us raving!

Too conclude things my advice is ask yourself if you need to buy in bulk. If it's better off buying things in bulk and saving money in the end. If you don't need to buy in bulk but don't mind paying $60 for the membership then I strongly Reccomend it! It's a fun day out and the membership gives you unlimited access for a whole year.
REMEMBER; you need a membership to enter Costco unless your a guest visiting with another member.

DIY CHRISTMAS

Join the festive activities

w. D.I.Y Christmas Packs

Today I finally made it to the shopping centre to get some shopping done. You'd think because I work at a shopping centre i'd always be checking out shops, but thats just not the case!
So today I got really excited and headed to my local shopping centre. Some people probably think I'm crazy because its around that time of the year where everyone seems to be at the shopping centre.
But to be honest with you, I love the atmosphere of a busy shopping centre around Christmas time.
All of the repeditive christmas songs, and everything christmas related... I love it!

So besides looking at clothes to buy for myself, I thought I'd get into the festivity a little more and buy some Christmas D.I.Y packs. I thought these would be a struggle to find, but I was proven wrong. I entered K-mart, Big W, Coles & Woolworth's and ALL stores had some sort of gingerbread or ornament D.I.Y packs. I think these DIY packs are just an awesome idea, they're so cheap and easy!
I found no pack over $10 and majority of the packs came with everything ready to go. So no need to make the icing up yourself, no baking, just assembling and decorating.

I ended up purchasing;
- Gingerbread house kit (BIG W) $10
- Ornament Cookie Kit (WOOLWORTH) $5.50

Today I made the Gingerbread house, and I think i'll get to the cookie set tomorrow night. Even though I haven't done the Cookie Set I think it's a fantastic idea and everyone should get one for their kids (or even big kids). For $5.50 you get to decorate 12 cookies, and the cool thing is you get a little plastic pocket to put each cookie in and wrap it with red ribbon. Then you place them on your Christmas tree for all the kids to pick off on Christmas day. Its a cute little Christmas tree decoration and great for the kids to gobble up.

Now all though I like to think of myself as a very creative and artistic person, my gingerbread decorating skills seem to be extremely shocking! I've seen all these photos over social media of peoples awesome gingerbread houses and mine looked like it had been decorated by a 3 year old.
But for me the looks of the gingerbread house weren't important..... it was just so god dam fun.
I chucked on some Christmas carols and my friend and I started decorating this gingerbread house. We may have struggled but in the end we created this cute little gingerbread house and got to eat all of the left over icing, and who doesn't love left over icing.
I really recommend everyone going out and getting some sort of D.I.Y Christmas pack. It's a fantastic idea for those with children or children in the family, they honestly will love it!
Its cheap, easy, and of course Christmas related!!

This is the Gingerbread house kit all laid out.
(and yes thank god instructions are included)

If you're a bit of a dummy with instructions don't stress, I practically did the house without instructions, its so simple.
An of course, heres my finished product!!

Thank you Sarah for being a fantastic Gingerbread house model ;)
Great family fun, so go out and buy a kit guys!
Also you may already know that Gingerbread lasts for ages. So the house can literally just sit on the bench for a few days while everyone picks at it!
Keep updates on my little Christmas festivities guys

CHRISTMAS- LAST MINUTE TIPS

Christmas in the AU-
7 more days

I hope you don't need reminding, but Christmas is around the corner.
Christmas only comes once a year, so I hope you're all making the best of it.
I agree that around this time of the year, things become so stressful. Its like all the bad things happen at one time, and right before Christmas. I can admit that I have become very negative lately and have had the worst of luck! Honestly I've had so many things go wrong as of lately, but theres one thing we all need to be reminded of......
We are all alive.
You may not be going so well financially or other problems may occur, BUT.. Most of us are surrounded with our loved ones and Christmas is a time for appreciating, giving and coming together.
I am going to mention the Sydney siege, as people have become so opinionated and caught up amongst the negativity. Yes its a horrible situation that has occured, but instead of pointing the finger you should be appreciating all the great things in your life and spending precious time with your family. Be thankful for your life and try to be as positive as you can. Once you avoid all negativity you will become such a happier person, and certain things begin not to bother you.
Anyway, enough of my Dr.Phil advice! I'm here to give last minute Christmas tips, yay.

Short on money?
Get in the car with your family and friends and make a night of Christmas light looking! Whether you just drive locally or make a road trip out of it, there are plenty of people out their that still decorate their homes.
Simply watch a Christmas movie. The weather in Melbournes been horrible lately (its raining at the moment), so rug up with everyone in the lounge and watch some corny Christmas movies. Hot chocolate, popcorn, snuggles... Who would complain? Personally Polar Express is my FAVOURITE Christmas movie, I don't know anyone that could not like it.
DIY Christmas crafts. Great if you have kids and I'm such a big kid I still enjoy it. Simple as making Christmas cards and writing cute little things to people. You don't know how much people appreciate something as small as a lovely message in a card. Its basic things that you can do to spread the happiness.

Money too spend?
CHRISTMAS PHOTOS, hello guys. Who doesn't want a photo with a random man dressed as Santa. Pick a nice set up in a shopping centre, if not all- majority of shopping centres have them. Yes they are pricey but who doesn't want a cute Christmas photo with their loved ones. Wear a gay Christmas sweater & a santa hat and you're set!
Christmas events like Santas Magical Kingdom. Theirs a few around, you just need to do your research and buy the tickets. I know I personally LOVED Santas Magical Kingdom, it was great.
Hold a Christmas feast. All the classic Christmas food, cute little Christmas decorated desserts. Just get all of your friends or family together and eat as much as you can!!! Christmas is all about putting back on the kgs!
Extended Christmas hours; Some shopping centres are open as late as midnight. For all your last minute shopping for gifts or even just to spend some money on yourself. Some people hate the busy rush but to be honest i secretly love it.

Also guys check out the 2014 Bandaid song. It's very touching and includes some of the best voices of 2014.

Embrace Christmas, it's such a special time. It will honestly be over so soon so make the most of it guys xxxxx

EVERLOC, Australias leading bathroom & kitchen accessories

Everloc
Providing designer good looks and inspirational Improvements to the way you live.

This is my second post/review about Everloc, so they must be doing something right!
But why Everloc for your bathroom & kitchen accessories?

  • Affordable
  • Reliable
  • Quality
  • Modern
  • Easy
  • Organised
I could think of many describing words, but theres just 6 words I can think of that best describe Everloc. When Sharing a bathroom with others or when having guests over, its so important to have a neat and tidy bathroom. Especially when it comes to your shower! A shower is somewhere where people go to obviously wash themselves and get clean. When your shower is dirty, unorganised and cluttered it really defeats the purpose of getting clean. People shower once, twice sometimes three times a day, they don't want to be continually cleaning themselves in a dirty place. SO thats where Everloc comes in.

I personally used to always have a cluttered shower. I'd have billions of different shampoo and conditioners cluttered in the shower and things like shavers sitting on the shower floor. I guess this was just because I was lazy and didn't think having a clean shower was so important. But I am so thankful for coming across Everloc products. Not only have they turned my shower into an organised uncluttered area, but my shower looks more clean, presentable and modern!

I now have three Everloc products in my bathroom but yesterday I installed a product from their new range. Everloc launched Xpressions, the new range which showcases a series of new designs. It employs Everlocs original patented dual-action suction technology which offers unparalleled suction and requires NO tools, NO drilling and NO screw-driving to install, leaving NO damage on surfaces.
Wow that was a lot of no's hahaha, but how simple is that compared to some of the DIY bathroom and kitchen accessories.

The new product I installed from the Xpressions range was the Double corner Basket and Large shelf. Perfect for hair products and shower gels to now be stored neatly in your bathroom. But one thing I want to mention is that these products aren't only to be used in the Bathroom, they are also great ideas for the Kitchen and Laundry providing additional storage when required.

Here is what my bathroom now looks like, a lot more organised. Now you may want to place the accessories a lot differently, but because of the awkward shape of my shower this is how I had too place my products.

If you want too look more into Everlocs products please do visit there website. I know I'm a very happy customer and you will be too!
